Time is Clicking away on all you Tier 1 & 2 Big Three
Auto-Suppliers. The QS-9000 Registration Deadlines are July 31, 1997 for
Chrysler & Dec. 31, 1997 for General Motors and Ford wants evidence of
Self-Certification.
The Big-Three have made their point loud and clear on the
AIAG Video. We only need "3,000 Good Suppliers," to do business. We
are deadly serious about this QS-9000 program, as articulated by the Vice
President of Purchasing of General Motors twice, at the end of the video. Dan
Reid in the latest edition of the ASQC Quality Progress Magazine said the
deadline is firm. All notified suppliers not Registering to the appropriate
QS-9000 Standard will be put on business hold until they Register. Have you and
your Company taken this message seriously? I'm sorry but the axe falls on these
dates, whether you are registered or not. What are you going to do about it?
Better yet, what business wouldn't heed these deadlines before the last minute?
What about your company, who have slipped eight months behind, or the tier 3
supplier who is getting pressure from the tiet one or tier two supplier who is

Companies to meet the 3,000 Supplier Mark by the deadlines. Your Company has no
excuse to Register by the deadlines. However you have to prepare to be Registered
